Yesterday, I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to boot up into a DOS environment from a CD and run the flash utility. I still couldn't figure it out. I downloaded a whole bunch of ISO boot images (DOS, Win95, Win98) and used MagicISO to edit them and add the 'Bios' folder where the utility and bios file were. After saving the new ISO image I burnt a CD and the system did boot up into the particular environment, however my newly added folder 'bios' was never there! After trying it at least 10 times with different ISO images, I finally gave up and went with AFUWIN, and called it a day. The bios file loaded ok, I rebooted and went straight into the bios.
The CPU freq. Is still 'greyed out'. The Intel ROM is ver. 10.xxxx, that's good:-) 1) Can somebody post a link how to create that bloody bootable CD (DOS) image where I can add my custom folder?
2) Would it be possible to make the CPU freq. Thank you in advance. Grab this one and see if it allows you to change that value now: Thanks for the effort, but it still doesn't work There is NO user setting for CPU frequency. And, one more thing.
Since I've installed this BIOS mod 5.43 I'm not able to do a re-start of the computer. If I shut it down, I can start it up.
If I do a restart, it passes the BIOS info, RAID info, and depending on the mood of the computer I will either get a blue screen or just a blank (black) screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. Then I have to press the power button for 5sec. Shut down, and reboot. The everything works, again. This thing started right after I installed the new BIOS 5.43 version with Intel 10 Raid firmware back in February. I didn't bother posting this problem, but it's getting a bit annoying for me, again.
Thanks a million.
